Some audio engineering courses, though excellent, can cost from $4,000 to $20,000 and take a year or more to complete. There are a number of reasons for this including:
- The number of students per mixing board (see right) creates situations where students have to wait to take their turn learning how to operate such mega dollar mixing boards.
- Audio engineering is a subject with many facets and some schools stretch out lessons covering aspects that have little impact within home recording situations.
